Rewa Master Plan 2021 has been created for Rewa District. Rewa is a city in the Rewa district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The city of Rewa is the district headquarters. The district is bounded on the north by Uttar Pradesh, on the east and southeast by Sidhi, on the south by Shahdol, and on the west by Satna. It is part of Rewa Division and has an area of 6,240 km2. Rewa is connected to Satna through a 50 kilometers Rewa Satna Rail Line. Satna falls on the Mumbai Howrah main line via Allahabad. India’s longest highway, NH 7 Varanasi to Kanyakumari, runs through Rewa, linking with Mirzapur, Katni, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. NH 27 to Allahabad and NH 75, from Ranchi to Gwalior, also passes through Rewa. The nearest airport is at Khajuraho.
Rewa also has an air strip. The city lies about 420 kilometers (261 mi) northeast of the state capital Bhopal and 130 kilometers (81 mi) south of the city of Allahabad. Rewa derives its name from another name for the Narmada River. Rewa is connected to Allahabad via NH 27 and Sidhi, Satna, Maihar and Varanasi via NH-7. The total population of Rewa is 2,354,220. Males constitute 52% of the total population while females constitute 48% of the total population. The latitude of Rewa is 24.530727 and the longitude is 81.299110. It is located between the 24° 31′ 50.6172” N and 81° 17′ 56.7960” E.
Objectives of Rewa Master Plan 2021
The objective of the Rewa Master Plan 2021 is to create enabling spatial and land use planning framework to achieve the Vision of Rewa Master Plan 2021 in order to promote, guide and rationalize. The future growth and development of the urban centres, it will be critical to define their growth framework The future growth framework of the urban centres are defined by the Master Plan/Development Plans which are evolved for each settlement at individual level. Rewa Master Plan 2021 has been considered as one of the most effective mechanism to promote planned growth of the urban centres. It lays down the road map, agenda and framework within which the city growth is envisioned. It provides a tool for the authorities to take decision with regard to current and future development related issues.
Rewa Master Plan 2021 provides the framework for rationalizing the orderly movement of traffic and transportation within the city and defines the area for laying down net-work of various services. The plan is used for promoting integrated development of the urban centre by rationalizing its pattern of land use and their interrelationship. It also defines the strategies and solutions for overcoming the existing problems of the urban centres and to overcome its infrastructural and service related inadequacies. In addition, it provides options for accommodating the future addition to population which is likely to come to the urban centre due to natural growth and migration. Master Plan acts as a tool for determining the infrastructure cost which would be required to make the city sustainable. The plans offer futuristic solutions by laying down agenda for its growth and development.
