Kurwai Master Plan 2035 has been created for Kurwai Town. Kurwai is a small town and Nagar Parishad situated in the District of Vidisha in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is situated on the banks of river Betwa. It is situated 138 kilometers east of Bhopal. State highway 14 and State Highway 19, merge at Kurwai. Currently, Two-Laning with paved shoulder of SH-14 in the construction phase (Bina-Kurwai-Sironj Road) by Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Ltd.
The length of Bina-Kurwai-Sironj road is 56.92 kilometers. Nearest airport is at Bhopal and railway station is Kurwai Kethora, which is about 8 kilometers. As of 2001 India census, Kurwai had a population of 13,737. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. It is located between the 24.1189° N and 78.0403° E.

Objectives of Kurwai Master Plan 2035
The objective of the Kurwai Master Plan 2035 is to create enabling spatial and land use planning framework to achieve the Vision of Kurwai Master Plan 2035 in order to promote, guide and rationalize. The future growth and development of the urban centres, it will be critical to define their growth framework The future growth framework of the urban centres are defined by the Master Plan/Development Plans which are evolved for each settlement at individual level. Kurwai Master Plan 2035 has been considered as one of the most effective mechanism to promote planned growth of the urban centres. It lays down the road map, agenda and framework within which the city growth is envisioned. It provides a tool for the authorities to take decision with regard to current and future development related issues.
Kurwai Master Plan 2035 provides the framework for rationalizing the orderly movement of traffic and transportation within the city and defines the area for laying down net-work of various services. The plan is used for promoting integrated development of the urban centre by rationalizing its pattern of land use and their interrelationship. It also defines the strategies and solutions for overcoming the existing problems of the urban centres and to overcome its infrastructural and service related inadequacies. In addition, it provides options for accommodating the future addition to population which is likely to come to the urban centre due to natural growth and migration. Master Plan acts as a tool for determining the infrastructure cost which would be required to make the city sustainable. The plans offer futuristic solutions by laying down agenda for its growth and development.
