JDA Jalandhar Chief Administrator’s Order Against Colonisers
Passing orders against colonisers who had not converted the 15 percent land in various housing schemes for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), the new Chief Administrator of Jalandhar Development Authority (JDA) on Thursday directed that this land should be transferred free of cost to the state government.
In its preliminary list, the JDA authorities have prepared a list of eight colonies wherein all 23,086 sq yards area was to be reserved for EWS and the land was to be given free of cost to the poor for their housing scheme.
JDA, CA has written to the Deputy Commissioners of Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Kapurthala for not registering plots in these eight colonies mentioned below, as the promoters had not responded to repeated reminders.

As per the state government’s notification issued on December 31, 2013, the promoters of licensed colonies were to reserve the land for EWS scheme and convert it free of cost. The CA said repeated notices were issued to the promoters. The final notice was served on March 13, 2018, but still, the land was not converted and hence the orders are issued, he said.
