Fin Department Raised Objections To General Administration Department
Finance department raised objections to the proposal by general administration department (GAD) Jaipur to construct flats in the Gandhinagar area after razing existing quarters.
General Administration Department has proposed to construct a high-rise block after demolishing 29 quarters situated in the Old MREC campus, Gandhinagar.
General Administration Department has proposed to construct Type I flats on the land of 10 quarters. Nearly, 250 flats of the Type I category will be constructed with an approximate size of 2,500 sq ft each.
To recover the construction cost of flats that will be developed for officials, the company can construct and sell two commercial blocks. To construct the high-rise, the department has formed a joint company with the Centre’s National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), an official said.

The finance department has raised a query on money transactions when they carry out the construction work. The department has urged that funds should be transferred from the government’s bank accounts, he said. A decision will be taken at a meeting on December 17, chaired by chief secretary.
Earlier, objections were raised on the land title, where the project was proposed belongs to Old MREC. Following this a committee was constituted to find out about the ownership of the land, the official said.
In its report, the committee mentioned that the portion of land for the proposed project belongs to the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA). Now, the process of mutation of land in JDA’s name will begin. Later, it will be transferred to the state government.

As the land situated in the posh Gandhinagar area is shrinking, the proposed high-rise will accommodate officials of the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) and Rajasthan Police Service (RPS).
