DDA Delhi Housing Scheme 2018 To Come Up By Year End
DDA (Delhi Development Authority) Delhi Housing Scheme 2018, which was scheduled to be launched in June, will now come up only by the year-end.
DDA officials said, the 21,000 flats on offer would be better designed and more spacious compared to the previous ones. The authority had faced flak over its small 1 BHK flats in the previous schemes and a large number of them were returned by the allottees.
It will take some time for the scheme to be launched as many of these flats are not complete and we also want to provide basic infrastructure in the housing complexes before we offer the flats, a DDA spokesperson said.
DDA’s vice-chairman also confirmed that it would not be possible to launch the DDA Delhi housing scheme in June and the new date has yet not been finalised. Construction work on many 2BHK and 3BHK flats is going on, while a large number of 1BHK flats are being given finishing touches, a DDA official said.
DDA’s principal commissioner (housing), in charge of the project, was arrested in April by the CBI in a bribery case and his residence and office were also searched. DDA sources said this has also led to the scheme getting delayed.
Unable to sell its ‘small’ flats in the past two schemes, DDA has now decided not to include them in the new project. The 2018 scheme will only have new flats and these will be better than the ones offered earlier, the official said.
The upcoming flats would be much bigger compared to the previous schemes. The 1BHK flats would have a minimum size of 40 square metres, while the older ones were about 30 square metres, the official said.
