Damoh Master Plan 2005 has been created for Damoh District. Damoh is a town in the Sagar Division in north-eastern Madhya Pradesh in India. The town is located 260 kilometers east of state capital Bhopal and is situated south of Tikamgarh. It is the administrative headquarters of Damoh District. As of 2001 India census, Damoh had a population of 112,160. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Damoh Railway Station is the only railway station in the city serves a few trains for Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Amritsar and Howrah, situated between Katni and Bina Junction. Damoh is well connected by road to Bhopal, Jabalpur and Chhatarpur, Damoh to Bangaon, Patuha and Hatta. The latitude of Damoh is 23.839054 and the longitude is 79.441025. It is located between the 23° 50′ 20.5944” N and 79° 26′ 27.6900” E.
Objectives of Damoh Master Plan 2005
The objective of the Damoh Master Plan 2005 is to create enabling spatial and land use planning framework to achieve the Vision of Damoh Master Plan 2005 in order to promote, guide and rationalize. The future growth and development of the urban centres, it will be critical to define their growth framework The future growth framework of the urban centres are defined by the Master Plan/Development Plans which are evolved for each settlement at individual level. Damoh Master Plan 2005 has been considered as one of the most effective mechanism to promote planned growth of the urban centres. It lays down the road map, agenda and framework within which the city growth is envisioned. It provides a tool for the authorities to take decision with regard to current and future development related issues.
Damoh Master Plan 2005 provides the framework for rationalizing the orderly movement of traffic and transportation within the city and defines the area for laying down net-work of various services. The plan is used for promoting integrated development of the urban centre by rationalizing its pattern of land use and their interrelationship. It also defines the strategies and solutions for overcoming the existing problems of the urban centres and to overcome its infrastructural and service related inadequacies. In addition, it provides options for accommodating the future addition to population which is likely to come to the urban centre due to natural growth and migration. Master Plan acts as a tool for determining the infrastructure cost which would be required to make the city sustainable. The plans offer futuristic solutions by laying down agenda for its growth and development.
