CIDCO: Biggest Housing Scheme For Economically Weaker Section

CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation) will flag off its biggest housing scheme for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) and Low-Income Group (LIG) on August 15. The online application ( htttps://lottery.cidcoindia.com) will be for the largest number of housing stocks at any one point of time, CIDCO marketing department said.

Marketing manager said the website can be viewed from August 13 and applications can be sent from August 15. MD has made it online for transparency.

Applicants will have to deposit Rs 280 besides Rs 5,000 and Rs 25,000 as earnest money deposit for EWS and LIG booking. In case they fail to get the allotment, the earnest money will be refunded.

Applicants will have to get certified income copy from the tehsildar. Anybody who is a domicile of the state can apply. In the case of PMAY, there are conditions for not owning any pucca house anywhere in the country. Those who are working in the unorganised sectors can also apply if fulfil the remaining conditions of documentation. Those who apply under PMAY will also have to register with the PMAY website and MHADA (Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority) the nodal authority will vet the applicants, CIDCO said.

The EWS flats are priced at Rs 18 lakh for a carpet area of 25.81 sqm while LIG flats are priced at Rs 25 lakh for a carpet area of 29.82 sqm.

The PMAY applicants should have a monthly income of less than Rs 25,000 while LIG applicant income should be from Rs 25,000- 50,000. The PMAY applicants who qualify for the scheme will get Rs 1.5 lakh from Centre and Rs 1 lakh from the state as monetary help along with bank loan facilities.
