Betul Master Plan has been created for Betul District. Betul is a City and a Municipality in Betul District in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is the administrative center of Betul District located in southern Madhya Pradesh. It forms the southernmost part of the Bhopal Division. Betul is well connected by a Road and rail network.
The Delhi-Chennai broad- gauge railway line and National Highway No 69 also pass through it. The nearest Airports are at Nagpur and Bhopal which is almost 180 kilometers from Betul. Being situated on the National Highway, Betul is an important town of Madhya Pradesh. Betul town is an actively growing area. As this is located very near to Bhopal, it will grow up very fast. During the 2011 Indian census, Betul had a population of 103,330. Males constitute 52% of the population, females 48%. The latitude of Betul is 21.910803 and the longitude is 77.901184. It is located between the 21°54’38.89″N and 77°54’4.26″E.

Objectives of Betul Master Plan
The objective of the Betul Master Plan is to create enabling spatial and land use planning framework to achieve the Vision of Betul Master Plan in order to promote, guide and rationalize. The future growth and development of the urban centres, it will be critical to define their growth framework The future growth framework of the urban centres are defined by the Master Plan/Development Plans which are evolved for each settlement at individual level. Betul Master Plan has been considered as one of the most effective mechanism to promote planned growth of the urban centres. It lays down the road map, agenda and framework within which the city growth is envisioned. It provides a tool for the authorities to take decision with regard to current and future development related issues.
Betul Master Plan provides the framework for rationalizing the orderly movement of traffic and transportation within the city and defines the area for laying down net-work of various services. The plan is used for promoting integrated development of the urban centre by rationalizing its pattern of land use and their interrelationship. It also defines the strategies and solutions for overcoming the existing problems of the urban centres and to overcome its infrastructural and service related inadequacies. In addition, it provides options for accommodating the future addition to population which is likely to come to the urban centre due to natural growth and migration. Master Plan acts as a tool for determining the infrastructure cost which would be required to make the city sustainable. The plans offer futuristic solutions by laying down agenda for its growth and development.
