Amaravati Housing Project by L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji & NCC
For development of mega Amaravati Housing Project Andhra Pradesh Government has chosen construction and infrastructure companies L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji and NCC in the greenfield capital city of Amaravati.
Capital, coming up on the banks of the Krishna river, is abuzz with activity with State administration functioning from the new facilities over the past 12 months.
The Amaravati Housing Project, with a number of towers, will provide flats for elected representatives and government employees. The project, estimated to cost about Rs 2,652 crore, is proposed to be completed in 6 months.
It will have flats in towers ranging from 3,500 sq ft for elected representatives and All India services officers, and flats of 1,800 sq ft for Type I Gazetted Officers, 1,500 sq ft for Type 2 Gazetted Officers 1,200 sq ft for non-gazetted officers and 900 sq ft flats for class four employees, according to the Chief Minister’s Office.
The information was shared by the CMO after a review meeting of the progress of Amaravati developments. Team One India developed the layout, designs and plans for the proposed project.
NCC declined to comment on the development as they were yet to get an official order from the government. However, they said the company was engaged with the government for the affordable housing project in the State.
Shapoorji Pallonji and L&T were engaged by the State government to develop the temporary Secretariat complex in Amaravati. Singapore Consortium of companies, engaged with Amaravati city, is associated in the project development works.
