Amaravati Affordable Housing to come up with 8,000 group type-3 housing flats will be built in the limits Amaravati capital city in first phase. And, the government wants to sell these flats at an affordable price at Rs 10 lakh as maximum. The flats will be single and double bedroom. This is line with Chief Minister’s plan to create a people’s capital and the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) is designing various attractive housing schemes.

CRDA has finalised plans on the study tours of State government in various newly-constructed cities, and have found the importance of affordability of living. Presently, one lakh people are living in all the 29 villages. But it is very minimal to build international standard city and other commercial establishments. In this backdrop, the government is making all efforts not only to create commercial establishments but also housing projects.

CRDA would construct 8,000 houses in the limits all the 29 villages. The preference in the allotment of houses is yet to be decided. The CRDA has initiated various modes of housing projects in the capital. Plans have been finalized to construct 5000 houses for homeless families and agriculture workers, who have not got houses so far under any government scheme.

CRDA has been concentrating on commercial establishments and creation of infrastructure but it was asked to focus on designing various housing schemes.
