Govt Sanctioned 1,430 Projects Under PMAY Urban In Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh has sought 15 lakh PMAY urban houses to be built in the state, Union minister of state for housing & urban development said on Sunday in Lucknow.
He said that government has sanctioned 1,430 projects under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in UP. In the first phase, 4.12 lakh houses are being made at an investment of Rs 1,512 crore, which is solely funded by the Centre and has been disbursed. The overall investment will be Rs 6,500 crore in UP.
From October 2019, govt will be sanctioning more projects. He also said that 47.5 lakh houses have been sanctioned overall in India. He said he will be frequently visiting Lucknow to oversee progress in open defecation free villages in the state. He also said that government had reserved a new affordable housing fund for Rs 60,000 crore and that PMAY is being monitored by four vectors.
The four vectors include removal and development of slums. One of our significant thrust areas is to develop colonies where the slums existed for the same people, he said. More than 1.65 lakh beneficiaries have taken advantage of the credit facility to avail housing.
