Nandyal Master Plan has been created for Nandyal with its population of 200,746 as of 2011 census of India. Nandyal is a city in Kurnool district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a municipality and the headquarters of Nandyal mandal in Nandyal revenue division. Nandyal is located at 15.48°N 78.48°E.
Nandyal municipality was constituted in the year 1899. The jurisdictional area is spread over an area of 19 km2 (7.3 sq mi). Its urban agglomeration is spread over an area of 28.88 km2 (11.15 sq mi) which includes constituents of Nandyal municipality, out growths of Moolasagaram, Noonepalle and partial outgrowths of Udumalpuram, Ayyalur.
The city is a major hub of industry and agriculture. It is rich in natural resources like granite and marble. There are many rice mills and oil mills and industries which produce milk, soft drinks, sugar, PVC pipes, etc. Some of the renowned industries in the town are the Milk Dairy, Nandi Polymers, S. P. Y. Agro, Nandi Steels, etc
Vision of Nandyal Master Plan
The objective of the Nandyal Master Plan is to create enabling spatial and land use planning framework to achieve the Vision of Nandyal Master plan in order to promote, guide and rationalize. The future growth and development of the urban centers, it will be critical to define their growth framework. The future growth framework of the urban centers is defined by the Master Plan/Development Plans which are evolved for each settlement at individual level. Nandyal Master Plan has been considered as one of the most effective mechanism to promote planned growth of the urban centers. It lays down the road map, agenda and framework within which the city growth is envisioned. It provides a tool for the authorities to take decision with regard to current and future development related issues.
Nandyal Master Plan provides the framework for rationalizing the orderly movement of traffic and transportation within the city and defines the area for laying down net-work of various services. The plan is used for promoting integrated development of the urban centre by rationalizing its pattern of land use and their interrelationship. It also defines the strategies and solutions for overcoming the existing problems of the urban centers and to overcome its infrastructural and service related inadequacies. In addition, it provides options for accommodating the future addition to population which is likely to come to the urban centre due to natural growth and migration. Master Plan acts as a tool for determining the infrastructure cost which would be required to make the city sustainable. The plans offer futuristic solutions by laying down agenda for its growth and development.
