Mumbai Affordable Housing, 783 Houses For MHADA Lottery 2018

Each year MHADA (Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority) announces the lottery until May 31, but now Mumbaikars will have to wait for some more time. For Lower Income Group (LIG) in MHADA Lottery 2018, there will be 783 houses and only 2 houses will be left for Higher Income Group (HIG). More than 75% of the lottery houses will be for LIG.

This time MHADA’s main objective is to focus on the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). Earlier MHADA has been criticised for focusing on the middle and higher group. Considering the criticism MHADA announced that they will include more houses for the EWS and the LIG.

MHADA Lottery 2018 will be offering 1000 houses. For EWS MHADA will offer 500 houses, for LIG 283 houses, 215 houses for MIG and only 2 for HIG in Pant Nagar. The price for the houses has not been decided yet. Also, the advertisement process for the same is lagging behind. The adds should have been carried out in the first week of April. Thus, the date for the lottery has been delayed. MHADA’s Joint Chief Executive Officer informed that the process will start from June.
